The Central Library and Book House were established on April 25, 1991. Since then, the university has developed the foundation of its library and continuously worked to improve it by providing books, references, and various journals to give lecturers, students, and researchers the opportunity to keep up with developments in their fields, as well as to encourage scientific research. The university library aims to acquire comprehensive human intellectual output, both ancient and modern, and therefore seeks to obtain all academic-level materials, whether expensive or rare, manuscripts or copies, recorded on tapes or films.
The library initially started with a limited number of books and journals and gradually developed over time through dedicated efforts to improve its resources by providing scientific and humanities books, references, and journals (Arabic and foreign), as well as CDs. The collection has now exceeded 49,000 books, and continuous efforts are being made to acquire more publications from reputable Arab and international publishing houses, as well as local libraries.
